Hope you're not disappointed

At last I can tell you what it was that I was making. I can almost hear you all go uuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh :o( is that all it was. I couldn't reveal it before because these were in the post and had not yet been received.

 

I took part in a bookmark swap which Angel Jem kindly took the time to organise. I haven't taken part in a swap for ages. It was entirely up to each individual how many bookmarks you sent out. I got carried away with my stitching and decided to send out more than just the one required.

I have received a beautiful one from Susan who creates lovely textile work which is very inspiring. Go and peep at her blog. Thank you very much for this and the decorated envelope in which it arrived, I couldn't thank you before as I can't find an email address for you.

It's all there in black and white

Isn't it satisfying when things turn out OK. Sometimes the cogs start turning in your head, then they start turning on the machine and something turns out that pleases you even though you didn't really know what you were creating. I will post what this turned into later.

 

Red Friday

I have really enjoyed this this colour week, setting up each day has made me giggle, and I absolutely LOVE Red.

I am not a big fan of cuddly toys but this one of Lucy's has won my heart. If you squeeze him he giggles and vibrates. His little voice when he laughs sounds very wheezy, I feel the need to rush off and get him an inhaler.

Once again these are my feet but some more of Lucy's shoes. I did have to lay on my back on the patio with my feet against the wall to take this photo. The things you do to get a blog worthy photo. Thanks for organising this week Julie. Does it mean we have a black & white weekend now.

Yellow Thursday

All that I need to say with these is YELLOW SHOES

As it turned out I didn't have a hat. So I found a container nearby which seemed appropriate for me.

I typed all the names and printed them out and folded the papers.( evidence below)

Then I did the draw without peeping. I must say doing all this on my own at home I did start to wonder about my own sanity.

Anyway after all that the WINNER is Angel Jem. So if you send me an email with your address I will get that bundle in the post to you.

Two Birthdays a year, and Green Tuesday.

I can't believe it is one whole year since I launched myself with great trepidation into the world of blogging. The main culprit for getting me looking at blogs in the first place was the author of this, even though she did not have a blog at the time. The first blog I would lurk on regularly was here, she makes such beautiful things and is so productive. I would love to be able to meet her for coffee one day. I was given my initial encouragement and support from here.Quite early on I met these two very clever gals who keep me going. Since those very early days I have come across people who inspire me, teach me new skills and make me laugh so much I cry. So if anyone out there is hesitating over whether or not to start a blog, don't think about it anymore just get going it offers more than you realise.

I joined in on this colour week last year and really enjoyed it, so thanks to Julie I am going to do it again this year. Feel free to join in, it is a really easy way of creating a post.

 

Of course I have to include these, as they were such conversation starters last year, they were either loved or hated :o)

What a Good Friday

I have had such a lovely morning, which carried on into the afternoon. Over the last couple of weeks there has been emails backwards and forwards because a fellow blogger was coming to Norfolk. So Zoe and I organised where we could all meet and with the help of Lucy to do all the texting ( because I am so slow) the date was set.

 

We all met here, feeling excited but a little anxious in case the conversation didn't flow, what a stupid thought that was. 4 hours later we were still talking but had run out of time. Our fellow blogger was the lovely Katie. We met her daughter Martha, sons Owen and John and her husband Geoff. The men were sensible and went off walking leaving us to talk ourselves stupid.

Gifts were exchanged and knitting compared and explained, but not much creating happened. Katie had made Zoe and I a wonderful reversible bag each, using fabric from her Mum's patchwork stash. This held 3 hand spun balls of wool which had been produced locally to Katie.

 

More coffee was ordered and the talking continued, it was as if we had all known each other for ages.

 

Zoe had bought us all flowers and chocolates. I can only speak for myself but it was the most enjoyable morning and a great start to the Easter weekend. I would do it again anytime. Have a safe journey home Katie and family.
