I would love one of these..........

We have had one of those outdoor weekends. Cutting back a very overgrown hedge, taking down a couple of trees and cutting up the wood. Sounds like we have a huge garden, but sadly we don't. Our chickens are on a piece of land we borrow and we pay rent with veg and eggs, also by hedge cutting. I was the go-for loading up and clearing the cuttings then transporting them to the bonfire heap, which I love because I get to drive this......

We had this on loan for the weekend whilst Tim serviced it.( I'm getting nearer to my ambition of driving a tractor) I am thinking of trading my car in for one, I think it would make the supermarket shop much more enjoyable. Fortunately I am a bit out of focus in this photo because I do look a bit gormless. Next job for me was on the chain saw. I know you will appreciate this piece of machinery Steph.

There is something very satisfying cutting and stacking wood.

I love days like this where you get absolutely filthy, we also got soaked. You can wear the worst clothes you own and be more productive than you will ever be in your best ones.

After a shower and a clean set of clothes I was able to collapse into the chair to get started on a new project. Can anybody please tell me how to have only ONE! thing on the go at once because I don't seem to be able to manage it. They do say variety is the spice of life so I will use that as my excuse.

I am a celebrity double!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly can I apologise for adding the blog links in my side bar incorrectly.(Thanks for letting me know Mel ). When you read this post it may all become clear why I am so hopeless. Having said that I will still blame it on typepad who were having a bit of a shuffle round yesterday. I have put it right now.....................I hope.
Angel Jem is organising a bookmark swap and is looking for participants, but I put her link on so that it defaulted back to me ( makes my stats look good though). If anyone is interested go and have a look. Another link I added incorrectly is Gill at Lucy Locket, she has just started her blog so pop over and give her some encouragement, I remember how daunting it all seems to start with.

Going back to the title for this post, something has happened. I have been likened to a Hollywood celebrity. I always had a feeling this would happen sooner or later because for years people have said things like "Oh you remind me of my cousin, sister, brothers girlfriend" or "I know I've met you before". I just put it down to my friendly personality and approach, trying not to scare people to death as I approached them in nurses uniform with a large needle, but no, I was  wrong. It is a greater thing than that.  Lucy was watching a film the other day when Tom, her boyfriend, joined her for the last 20 mins. It is one of her favourite films so Tom was told to be quiet until it finished. He had never seen this film, at the end he said "Oh she reminds me of someone", "WHO?" replied Lucy, " Your Mum"said Tom. Lucy laughed at this suggestion and then said "Oh yes she is so much like her why didn't I see that before".

I'm sure by now you are all wishing that you too, had the similarities of a celebrity of this status. Well I will share with you who she is. If you have seen the film you will have a greater understanding of the person that writes this blog. It Is ......................................
Nemodorya
the lovely yet slightly demented Dory from Finding Nemo.

I'm not too disappointed really, being confused with Audrey Hepburn or Lauren Bacall would have been wonderful but on the other hand how many fish do you know of that keep a blog and can sew.
So if any of you are having a bad day the advice from me (Dory) to get through it would be " just keep swimming" :o)

Lucy has found a mini Dory that I can decorate my Crocs with so I am going to have to get one, don't you think.

Is anybody still there???????

Yes Katie and Mel I am still here. Thank you so much for noticing I had gone. I have just had a few weeks of feeling a bit glum, every time I sat down to switch on the computer I just couldn't do it. I think it has been the weeks of grey weather and apparently if you are a Gemini, your happy twin can disappear without warning, leaving you with the miserable one. Anyway enough of that moaning, spring is arriving quickly now which always inspires me. I have been able to spend time in the garden and get my seed box off the shelf, that always gets me motivated.
I have been quietly productive though, the lounge is finished, the curtains are made (will post photos later) and I have been to knit and craft groups.
Last Monday was our craft group, we meet about once a month and do whatever we like. We take it in turns to host and provide lunch and it seems to work really well. Skills are swapped so anybody wanting to try something new can get help from someone who can help. This week we were all knitting which meant there was loads of talking.

The two knitted bags were created by Michele and Alison. This is impressive work as Michele only learnt to cast on during our first meeting and has been heard a few times saying "can you just unknit that bit for me I think I have gone wrong". Now she happily goes off alone to find new yarn and patterns for her next creations. The wonderful loaf of bread you can see in the back of the photo was made with Sarah's own fair hands and tasted deliciuos.
I'm going to leave this as a short simple post and go and have a good catch up on your blogs.
Oh before I forget if anyone is interested, I have just read The Island by Victoria Hislop and in my opinion (not that it's worth anything, because you have to remember I am in the slow readers group) I have to say what a WONDERFUL read, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it.
