This post will be photo free. Jayne does not know I am writing it and I don't feel I can post a photo of her without her permission. It is 20 years since we first met, we were working in a residential home for the elderly. Jayne had just turned 21 and as I'm sure she would be very quick to add I was MUCH older at the age of 23. We became good friends and have remained so ever since. She is attractive, kind very funny and a wonderful wife and mother. If you asked my mum to describe she always says with much affection " she is just what you would expect an angel to be like"
Jayne would often baby sit for Lucy. She would bring a colouring book, crayons and a tube of smarties each time. Lucy got some of the smarties but didn't often get a go at the colouring books. One day Lucy said "Jayne can do cartwheels", "Did she tell you she could?" I asked. "no" said Lucy "she showed me last night in the lounge" I laughed so much and still do at the thought of a grown woman who I thought was sensible, entertaining Lucy by doing a gymnastic display for her.
Over the years Lucy and Jayne have become very close and have a great understanding of each other, they are both only children. Jayne was moved to tears when Lucy asked her very seriously if she could adopt her as her older sister. Since then she is known as big sis and Lucy has promised her if she ever gets married Jayne can be her bridesmaid as she and I were for her.
The reason for this post is that Jayne's birthday is 10 days after Lucy's always has been and always will be. For some reason I always think it's in September, in the car yesterday I realised that YET AGAIN!! I had missed it. So this my lovely friend is by way of public apology in front of the whole world that I am so sorry. You deserved a wonderful gift and card on the day. You will get them, and you probably realise by now I will do it again next year. At least I am consistent.
