I have managed to get in to a Sew Along, as usual I found it at the last minute. It looks like it should be fun and will get my machine humming again. I used to do a lot of dress making and at one point was making wedding dresses from home. I completed a 3 year City & Guilds course in fashion and design which was undertaken on a part time basis. Anyway somewhere along the way I lost my enthusiasm for sewing which saddened me. It's been great since starting this blog that enthusiasm has returned.
The Sew Along task is to make a top of some description in 6 weeks starting from tomorrow. I went to the only place around here that sells fabric and patterns to buy what I needed. I must say I struggled to find something I liked as all the models are Lucy's age and not mine. The garments also seem to be made up in awful fabrics. However I did make a purchase but have to admit I'm a little embarrassed about showing it. I do like the fabric though, it is a linen blend and feels lovely to touch.
On another subject a few weeks ago I received a lovely parcel of goodies from Kristy for the PIF swap arranged by Autum. I managed to make 4 gifts, which have been dispatched, and I have one gift left to complete. I have used as much as I could from the goodies sent (so you guess how generous she was) but still have a selection of items that need using and I have run out of ideas. Because it doesn't feel right to me to keep things I was sent to give away I am going to split them into 3 mystery packs. By doing this I am continuing with the PIF theme. These packs will also include tags I have made. I am offering them to the first three people who contact me. If you don't wish to ask via the comment box please email me.
These are the items to be split
