Most of yesterday was spent helping at a coffee morning to raise money for education in The Gambia. A lovely friend Jayne & her husband adopted a school there a few years ago. They do whatever they can to raise funds and Bernie visits whenever he can to see what use the money is being put to. Ideally they would like to build a new school. I admire both of them for their efforts & commitment to this project. They encourage their own 3 children to have an understanding of other cultures and the difficulties in gaining an education.
We all had a lovely and sucessful morning. In amongst my purchases I bought these for the princely sum of £1. They were then placed into a car boot jug (30p) and look wonderful. Well, I think so.
I spent this afternoon at a ribbon workshop with mum.I am certainly no needlewoman when it comes to embroidery. This was much easier though and very relaxing. Simple stitches are used with a little bit of weaving.
I think I will investigate this further.
